Robert O. Anderson The retired chairman and chief executive officer of the Atlantic Richfield Company, Mr. Anderson has been active in the oil industry since his graduation from the University of Chicago in 1939. He served the Atlantic Richfield Company as its chief executive officer for 17 years, as chairman of the board for 21 years, and as a member of the board of directors for 23 years. From 1961 to 1964, he was chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and was also a member of the boards of directors of Chase Manhattan Bank, Columbia Broadcasting System, Weyerhaeuser Company, and Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Inc. Since 1951, Mr. Anderson has served on the National Petroleum Council. He founded the International Institute for Environment and Development in London and is a life trustee of the California Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago. Mr. Anderson served as chairman of the Aspen Institute for more than 20 years and now serves on the Council of Honorary Trustees. |
