Sidney Tickton Fellowship Program in Proposal Development

The Tickton Program provides learning opportunities for AED staff at grades 5, 6, and 7 who show particular promise in proposal development. The Program offers workshops that cover the main elements of proposal development, such as dissecting the RFP, contracting mechanisms, writing for results, budgeting and cost share, and partnering. The workshops form the core curriculum for the fellows and, when possible, should be attended by both the fellows and their mentors. Outside reading and assignments offer fellows the opportunity to dig into RFPs and proposals, and to explore particular areas of interest. There are approximately eight workshops that take place over the lunch hour.  The program strives to offer opportunities for the fellows to either shadow an actual proposal process and/or go through a mock proposal preparation process.
