Behavior Change Innovation: State of the Art Activity (CHANGE) Logo

CHANGE ProjectThe CHANGE Project develops of state-of-the-art tools and strategies to facilitate individual and social behavior change relevant to child health, maternal health, infectious disease, and HIV/AIDS. CHANGE has identified, developed and applied innovative tools and approaches to improve behaviors in more than 60 health-related projects in 24 countries.

A major focus has been improving individual and household behaviors, such as family behaviors related to immunization and care-seeking or provider behaviors related to maternal care and injection safety.

In addition, CHANGE has pioneered behaviorally-grounded approaches to improving systems (such as Tanzania’s infectious disease surveillance system), introducing community behaviors (e.g., for environmental control of dengue), and advocating for policy changes (such as the introduction of new vaccines). CHANGE is a global leader in supporting a competency-based approach to capacity building.
