MIDEH,or Mejorando el Impacto al Desempeño Estudiantil de Honduras, supportsand works within the framework of the Honduran Education for All(EFA)-Fast Track Initiative (FTI) and the Honduran Poverty ReductionStrategy (PRS), as part of the Educational Quality Improvement Program2 (EQUIP2). The project strives to expand upon the foundation of EFAand improve the Honduran education system’s effectiveness by securingthe resources and creating the capacity necessary to ensure thesustainability of positive reforms. MIDEH is designed to assist in thereform of Honduran academic standards, as well as support andaccurately measure the improvement of student achievement in Hondurasaccording to the new educational priorities outlined by EFA, PRS, andthe Ministry of Education of Honduras.  














The project’s scope includes four primary programmatic components:Standards, Evaluation Criteria, and Testing; Decentralized TechnicalAssistance and Training; Research on Alternative Education for GradesSeven through 12; and Civil Society Participation in Education. Thecore MIDEH team works closely with the Honduran Ministry of Education,USAID/Honduras, and other donors to draw on the strengths of a varietyof private sector firms, education officials, and local organizations,including the Association of National Scholarship Recipients for theDevelopment of Honduras (ANEDH) and the Ricardo Ernesto Maduro AndreuEducation Foundation (FEREMA).
