SSTAP Phase II began in September 2007 and will continue for four years until September 2011.

SSTAP focuses on building the capacity of the Government of Southern Sudan Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (GoSS-MoEST) and the ten State Ministries of Education (SMoEs) in

Southern Sudan in the areas of education management and program implementation, with a particular focus on building systems that support the continuing expansion and improvement of education in Southern Sudan

SSTAP places a Senior Technical Advisor to build capacity at GoSS-MoEST headquarters and Senior Technical Advisors at SMoEs who build planning and implementation capacity at the state and local level and strengthen linkages between GoSS-MoEST and the SMoEs.  SSTAP also places a Diaspora Technical Assistant at each SMoE to assist the capacity-building efforts of the Senior State Advisor.
