The Global Sustainable Tourism Alliance seeks to advance tourism development in USAID mission countries that creates jobs for local peoples, helps secure their futures, respects cultures, and protects the natural environment. Through a coalition of 15 conservation and tourism development organizations, academic institutions, and consulting practices, the Alliance works with USAID Mission, governments, and local tourism industry partners to bring the best sustainable tourism development practices and solutions to their development challenges. The Alliance's first initiative is in Ecuador, a country which is seeking to improve its national park system while developing tourism to benefit local communities who live there.
