AED serves as the secretariat for coordinating the nation’s tobaccocessation activities and manages the efforts of the National TobaccoCessation Collaborative (NTCC) and the Youth Tobacco CessationCollaborative (YTCC). The secretariat provides leadership,coordination, and oversight for both collaboratives. For the NTCC,which has a well-established science base, the secretariat is workingwith federal agencies and partners to develop an implementation planthat identifies priority cessation activities, such as creatingconsumer demand for cessation products. For the YTCC, AED is reviewingthe science base of effective approaches to youth cessation, andidentifying the direction in which efforts and resources should befocused.
