Location: Europe & EurasiaGeorgia
Funder: USAID
Duration: This project is no longer active.

The project aims to encourage decentralization of the Georgian education system, and to create an institute responsible for school accreditation. The project will support the Georgian Ministry of Education in implementing a decentralized education policy through the development of 100 resource centers throughout Georgia that support local schools. Secondly, it will help to develop accreditation systems for general, vocational, and higher education at the national level through the creation of an Accreditation Institute. The first step, Phase I, consisted of sending the Chief of Party with a team of consultants to Georgia to work with the Ministry of Education and interested parties to develop a feasible strategy and work plan. Phase II will carry out the project's objectives.
