The Academy for Educational Development is administering a professional development program for ten representatives of the Jordanian Sharia Court. The three-week program will highlight a variety of methodologies and practices in areas of court management, judicial practice, legal reform, and social services, particularly as they pertain to women and children in the family court system. In addition to providing a valuable opportunity for participants to make professional contacts and initiate linkages that will carry over into their future work, the project will also introduce them to the rich diversity of U.S. culture and society.
