The Celebrate Deviance Campaign—created in partnership with a team of MIT students—attempts to create a norm of responsible drinking and increase benefits of using alcohol wisely while highlighting the negative consequences of dangerous drinking. The campaign uses grassroots, student-focused communication channels such as posters, screensavers, a tip book and events. The Sappi Foundation awarded the campaign a grant for its innovative use of print materials for positive social change. MIT students have formed an organization to support and create non-alcoholic activities and a social norm of moderate alcohol consumption.
