The National Collaborative for Workforce and Disability/Youth (NCWD/Y) is one of two national technical assistance centers funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to assist the workforce development community in addressing issues affecting the employment of people with disabilities.  AED manages the information services, technical assistance, and outreach for youth and family, including responsibility for managing the Youth & Family practice network and the development of outreach materials.

The mission of the collaborative is to ensure that youth with disabilities are provided full access to high quality services in order to provide opportunities for employment and independent living.

AED manages the collaborative’s website, which receives more than one million hits per year.  It has established multiple "hot topics" for use by employers and professionals in the workforce development system and by youth with disabilities and their families.  AED has also carried out, with partner organizations, 12 case studies of local service providers and generated analysis of these sites that the federal General Accounting Office is now using as a model for future studies.
