National Youth Leadership Network Retreat

AED provided logistical support for the National Youth Leadership Network's Governing Board retreat. The retreat made it possible for youth leaders with disabilities to come together to learn about key issues facing young people with disabilities and develop skills to assume greater leadership responsibility. The retreat had the following objectives: (1) prepare governing board officers and chairs to be knowledgeable of NYLN policies and structure, and to successfully execute their responsibilities; (2) develop systemic work plans for all 2006 NYLN activities; (3) document the experiences and success stories of participants by producing and disseminating videotaped stories of youth leaders with disabilities and their achievements; and (4) further develop the NYLN website. The retreat took place at AED March 1-4, 2006.
