Academy for Educational Development

This strategic research grant from USAID enables AED to capitalize on its experience with civil society networks and produce new technical publications that will advance the field of civil society and democracy globally.  The research integrates scholarship on networks with lessons learned from the field experience of AED and its partners.  Research and publications are expected to be ready for dissemination by early 2007.  Field study involves at least eight networks in four regions currently tackling issues such as violence against women (Nepal, Bangladesh, strengthening civil society (Nicaragua and Croatia), building peace (Kosovo, Sri Lanka), and improving health and education (Africa).
