October 15 - Global Handwashing Day

handwashingUsing soap to wash your hands is the most effective way to reduce diarrheal disease, which kills 2.2 millions people a year. The practice will be demonstrated in schools throughout the world on the first-ever Global Handwashing Day, October 15. More than 50 countries are expected to participate in this event, which this year targets school children.

Satellite Imagery Advances Electricity in Angola

undefinedNearly 30 years of civil war left the country of Angola’s infrastructure broken and outdated. Electricity, which is vital to the development of any nation, became largely unavailable. That is starting to change as AED uses satellite imagery to help the country rebuild its electrical system.
